When used correctly, Craigslist can be a powerful tool for property wholesalers to attract motivated sellers. The key to effective ads on Craigslist is a combination of attracting attention and building trust. InvestorCarrot, a real estate investor marketing guru, has some fantastic tips on how to get business through Craigslist. Here are the main ways they suggest building trust:

  • Be attractive. In other words, be professional. InvestorCarrot advises that being trustworthy means having high quality images and using proper grammar. Would you try to sell your house to someone who had a lot of typos?
  • Be easy to contact. Don’t make the motivated seller do any work to contact you. InvestorCarrot says listing contact information in an ad once is not enough. If someone wants to contact you, it should be very clear to them how.

Attracting attention on Craigslist involves knowing your ideal customer, getting personal, including a Call to Action (listing the action item you want customers to take), and keeping graphics relevant, among other InvestorCarrot tips.
